Originally made from aluminium, the break-away bar deteriorated from thousands of hours of use. Rather than wait for a genuine part, we were able to 3D print a replacement break-away bar for the laser cutter at Laws Laser. Additive manufacturing (3D printing) is a versatile industry. Custom made componentry can be manufactured for a variety of industries including the automotive sector. One of the benefits of working with our Markforged range of 3D printers is the ability to print ready assembled componentry. The components in this photograph have been printed as an example of a print in place assembly. Traditional manufacturing methods would have dictated that this assembly would have had to be made from multiple parts and assembled by hand. With the benefits of additive manufacturing, we’ve been able to manufacture this assembly printed in place, ready to go. The Markforged FX-20 3D printer is the largest we have at Laws Plus. This industrial grade machine is engineered to deliver maximum strength, accuracy and consistency. At Laws Plus our range of composite materials includes:
This 90 degree, triple channel component has been 3D printed using 2 materials:
At Laws Plus our Markforged Metal X 3D printer is able to print stainless steel componentry. The process of commercial and industrial grade 3D printing is known as additive manufacturing. Additive manufacturing (3D printing) has a multitude of industry applications. At Laws Plus, we're proud to be working with industry to push the boundaries of manufacturing and introduce innovative approaches to inventory management, prototyping and custom made solutions. |
